Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 165°C (325°F).
Grease a 25 cm baking pan (or loaf pan) and lightly dust it with flour.
2. Preparing the cake
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 5–7 minutes).
Add the vanilla and almond extracts, mixing until combined. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth—do not overmix.
3. Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 1 hour and 20–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Leave the cake to cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes.
